‘Dune’ (1984 AD) Film Review

March 17, 2025

In a futuristic alternative universe, there is a significant cosmogenic reduction to its galactic moving parts, unto the arrival of a mythical realization of what is otherwise a permanent stasis of earthling affairs.

It is a Judaeo-Christian homage.

It is a wonderful picture, with that upmost significance in enlightening the mind of futuristic imagination, yet grounded in the stern reality of political economy which is lost amongst playing with Ewoks and their hunting spoils.

And it is herein where the filmmakers shine. In the ability of portraying the cosmic destiny unto the titular Planet, which causes a unique progression of time which is Judaic in its origination.

Judaic, because the film portrays the incessant struggle of stable politic order amidst vaulted ambitions. Christian, because it requires the redemption of a soul borne high, yet far apart. Why?

Why can he process so much nervepain?

Perhaps it is by universal design?

Perhaps The God, in the prophetic fulfillment tacitly authorized by the filmmakers, has unlocked His Epic?

The end to slavery. The Birth of Perfect Justice.
