John Meade’s Wife (1937) Film Review

October 31, 2026

Did the down and out pitiful woman get what was due to her? The ending of the film possesses a representation of honoring the self-righteousness of a woman scorned. Yet what about the cosmic end to that passionate purpose?

Vengeance is a popular anthem. To resonate, en mass, with the frustrated, angry, and hostile alike – has the potential for major spiking. Is this the way to peace though?

Why yes, so much of this examination is ado with the truth, rather than the glorious vanity of 30’s high Chicago society. With those anxious expectations, and those striving goals which breed the deceitful gains which are the rotten heart of every corrupted goodness.

A woman’s conscious ego cannot bear to let go.

Pearls in oyster plates harvested through the dying minds of starving guineas, trolloped through the billowing black backs of negroes planting rail, hurried through refrigeration by another dumb pollock: this is the favorited end of the sage in her place instead:

”Weapons are tools of misfortune,

Loathed by all living things.

Therefore, those who follow the Tao do not rely on them.

In times of peace, the noble person honors the left;

In times of war, they honor the right.

Weapons are instruments of fear;

They are not the tools of a wise leader.

They are used only when there is no other choice,

And are wielded with utmost restraint.

Peace and quiet are preferred.

Victory is not a cause for rejoicing.

To rejoice in victory is to delight in the slaughter of human beings.

He who delights in the slaughter of human beings

Cannot thrive or fulfill his purpose in the world.” Tao Te Ching, Verse 31, Google AI Translation dated 31-OCT26 13:04PM
